How we approach the work
Marvellis Cabinet does not begin with a methodology and apply it to the client. We begin by listening — carefully, patiently — to where the owner is and what they are working through. The engagement shape follows from that, not the other way around.
We work with a small number of clients at any one time. This allows the quality of attention to remain high. We do not take on engagements that we cannot give proper time to.
All engagements are conducted in person where the owner prefers, or by video where logistics require. We work in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Written outputs belong to the client entirely.
Before any engagement begins, the scope, price, and terms are agreed in writing. Changes to scope are discussed openly and, where relevant, reflected in revised terms. There are no surprises.
Engagement 01
Owner-Manager Companion
A patient standing engagement for owner-managers of small Malaysian businesses — a doctor's practice, a small manufacturer, an architectural studio, a regional retailer — who would value an outside reader on the slow questions of running a small enterprise across the years. Sessions are held monthly across a year, each lasting ninety minutes, in person where possible. The conversation has no fixed agenda. Notes are kept only at the owner's request.
What is included
- Twelve monthly sessions of ninety minutes each
- A closing reflective letter at year end
- In-person sessions where geography allows, otherwise video
- No fixed agenda — the owner sets the direction of each session
- Notes and summaries produced only on the owner's request
How it works

Engagement 02
Quiet Diagnostic
A focused engagement for owner-managers feeling that the business is no longer working in quite the way it used to, without yet being able to put a clear name to the change. Over five weeks we sit with the owner, with two or three senior team members, and with selected long-standing customers, and prepare a measured written diagnostic of what may have shifted. The work is paced gently and respects the reader's relationship to the firm.
What is included
- A written diagnostic of the business's current condition
- Two discussion sessions — one mid-engagement, one to review the diagnostic
- Interviews with two or three senior team members
- Conversations with selected long-standing customers
- Written report owned entirely by the owner
How it works

- 2Conversations with senior team and customers over weeks two and three
- 3Draft diagnostic prepared and reviewed in a second session with the owner

Engagement 03
Walking Note
A single written response to a small but persistent question — perhaps the rhythm of family involvement in the business, the wording of a delicate conversation with a long-tenure employee, or the small question of whether to expand a long-time service. Roughly fifteen hundred words, delivered within two weeks, with one unhurried call. Useful for owner-managers wishing to slow down a particular thought.
What is included
- A written note of approximately 1,500 words
- One opening call to understand the question clearly
- One follow-up call to discuss the note after delivery
- Delivered within two weeks of the opening call

Nothing discussed in any engagement is shared with any third party without the client's knowledge and consent.
Written terms before work begins
Every engagement begins with a brief written agreement setting out scope, price, and conditions. No work starts until both parties are clear.
Data handled under PDPA 2010
Client information is held and managed in accordance with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010. Data is not retained beyond the engagement period.
Bilingual delivery
Sessions and written outputs are available in English and Bahasa Malaysia, following the owner's preference.
No upselling within engagements
Marvellis Cabinet does not use a current engagement to sell the next one. Renewals and extensions are the client's decision, made independently.
Unhurried pace throughout
Sessions are not rushed. If a conversation needs more time, we make space for that. Our work does not benefit from speed.
Transparent pricing
Clear, fixed prices for all engagements
These prices are the same for all clients. There are no discounts for early commitment and no surcharges for any included element.
